In Grade 7, I began learning from Ms. Jackie at what would later become The Speak Feed Lead Project. I really enjoyed the fun. In 9th grade (with Ms. Jackie’s support) I founded the SpeaKABOOM Gavel Club to share my fun experience speaking with more kids. I served as the first president of the club, which is almost 3 years old now.
I really enjoy public speaking because it integrates my interests in theater, creative writing, my own roleplaying game, and community service. When I speak in front of people, I feel empowered. I like to show people how fun public speaking is and help them learn to empower themselves through speaking. When I look at the excited faces of 4th-11th grade members, I feel proud knowing that I have shared my experiences and skills and helped influence them in a positive way.
